Treasury Department Names Burson-Marsteller

The United States Treasury Department
has selected Burson-Marsteller in New York to lead marketing
for the redesign of the dollar. Spending for the five-year
contract was estimated at $55 million. Burson-Marsteller will
work with its sibling, Marsteller Advertising/Interactive,
managing the overall campaign including media relations, retailer
outreach, Web site design, advertising and collateral materials.
Other WPP agencies that will collaborate on the account include
Landor, for branding and identity work; the Bravo Group, Kang
& Lee and UniWorld, for advertising aimed at multicultural
groups; the Media Edge, for media duties; and Penn Schoen
& Berland, for research services. The redesign includes
the use of color for the first time.
